Hopeless Government!

February 16, 2013 § Leave a comment

Frequent price hikes, wide-spread scams-corruption; matter of great wonder (concern?), what message this UPA government want to pass to the people of this nation!!!
Rahul Gandhi or Narendra Modi; we, citizens of this nation, must hope and support for a government that help people live less miserable life, at least in the next future!

To The Unnamed Girl!

December 31, 2012 § 1 Comment

It was an evening,
Evening to remember,
Smiling and giggling,
Language of love,
It was an evening,
Evening to remember..

Love is blind,
As it was, it will be always,
No time could alarm,
For they knew nothing,
Than greatness of love,
For, love is blind..

Wicked were those eyes,
Eyes that fell on their ways,
For they thought a world,
A world of love,
How wickedness can see the beauty,
The beauty of love,
And, greatness of love, as;
Wicked were those eyes,
They saw no love..

Love is so innocent,
And, wicked were those eyes,
The youth were in love,
But, the wicked were those eyes,
Torn off the love,
Love was so pure,
But, hatred so strong,
For the lady, it was her life,
Life of the love, but the evil was of hatred,
Wicked were eyes,
Eyes of the evil..

Now a life extinguished,
A life of love,
From where the wind blew?
The wind of wicked,
Nobody knows, but the truth of a loss,
A loss for love or loss of love,
Search for an answer, search for the loss,
Or for you my dear,
We are helpless, blame shall be on us,
For not being able-
Or protect you from the wicked,
Now, that a life extinguished,
A life of love..

It was an evening,
Evening to remember!

A New Year Not To Celebrate

December 31, 2012 § Leave a comment

Better not to give a flashy-dancing welcome to this new year. Given the current world scenarios, celebration is the last choice.
If it is Fiscal Cliff that worry US, in India it is season of corruption and rapes and public out cry towards the indifference of government and notoriously silent PM, for China it is steaming out growth and challenging Inflation, Street fights and euro struggle throughout Europe, For Arabs – after effects of common men’s disappointments with their dictator lord’s decades long ineffectiveness.
Spiral of economic tragedy, jobless youths, angry mobs on street – became common themes of the world as 2012 reaches its climax.
You can find national curiosity and apprehension towards well being of monkeys and elephants in Amazon forests, but not a single thought for suffering humane across the globe.
World leaders started their project to erase poverty from the map with Africa as a starting point during 1990s, but ended up having the same severe plight in immediate neighborhood of wealthy europe by 21 st century beginning!
From where to draw some happiness and hope for the coming new year?
From that moving Delhi bus where a girl got brutally gang raped for an hour, under the nose of high security expected streets of Indian capital!
From the tears of that helpless jobless greek mom unable to feed her three little children, when corporate world is building and rebuilding multi-trillion turn over business models!
From the inhumane treatment of africans by their landlords and mine-heads or starving to die kids! Africans, the owners of such a vast wealth, not even deserved for one time meal a day, who is eating their prosperity?
From the weeping mothers of Palestine, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, US – all victims of different derivatives of terror; who created and what still aides these terror outfits! Humane lives are that cheap to be put for some misunderstood or manipulated ideologies or business interests?
From the ill-mind of teen unleashing war against innocent kids inside some elementary school building; thanks to non-existence of any meaningful gun control law, any maniac can access any super weapon and kill all of us at anytime, expect at least some emotional lines from President.
From the highly irregular world of super hyper riches and rock bottom poor, the widening gap between haves and have nots! Skewed capitalistic interests, their math took us to this verge, we shall remain still fool?
From the natural calamity victims’ agony across globe!
Well, we could rejoice for the reason the world became much more uncertain, and, now those black swans which were used to be so rare are plenty now.
World became flat, globalization lead the flag and now it is the worst part of capitalization we are chewing.
Plenty of scandals blossomed in India, and hopes are high, that, trend will follow, as our PM believes, as it seems, that, MONEY GROW IN TREES. The very thought makes sense for him not to stop his colleagues from looting the public money, dumping money in swiss accounts; instead increase the pool of incoming wealth by reducing or canceling subsidies for the required commodities even to the most needed and underprivileged, raising fuel prices thus increasing prices of food, transport to the common man! Public saw fasting Annas, revealing Kejriwals, preaching Baba Ramdevs. Than some sensational events, whether the acts will carry any meaningful fruits; only time will say!
Not on the skies polluted by high carbon emission, not on the land corrupted by money-making activities, not in the water contaminated by industrial dumping, tell me someone, where you see hope for a future year, a ray of light to the new year, then I may dance to the beaming crackers to the skies, and to the hip-hop lines of music floor; till then I remain highly pessimistic not for the God’s blessings, but because of our own bad-deeds!

Adventures with Pi!

November 23, 2012 § 1 Comment

It was sometime adventure part is missing (existed anytime?) In my life. In any town, the pass time affairs could be – roaming around the places in the color of night or window-shopping through malls or browsing around book shops; but, for reason of “non-existence” prevailed over that town where I was then, none could be achieved, and only activity I could do was, walk to all the four directions till my leg-bone breaks. For these obvious reasons, the only way left out was to pull back to the resorts I kept in my back bag, namely – Hitler’s Mein Kampf, Nassim Nicholas Taleb’s The Black Swan or to the bottom – compilation edition of Kushwant Singh’s some of the most satirical write-ups.
For some unknown reasons, waiting for a train which had to reach an isolated railway station by reading these kinds of books seemed hugely eccentric.
So, as I started my thought with, to seek or to feel the adventures (if not through my life), sounded pretty awesome. Culmination to the feeling when Rs 120 burned for the theatre ticket plus Rs 20 for the 3D goggles!
Next 2 hrs 20 mins went through Pi’s story line, that ship wreckage; after in that raft, along with a Bengal tiger. Felt bit of a relation to Mr. Pi on his statement, “the fear (of the tiger) kept me alive for days”. A familiar feeling.
The theater as well as movie, impressively built, decently casted and convincingly presented; and with a profound message, “we see our reflection of feelings in others”, an advise Pi’s receives, in his childhood, when he insists his soft “feelings” for that Bengal tiger, from his father, and later, in the climax, Mr. Pi himself recollect its in-depth meaning, when the tiger leaves him without even giving a glance of thankfulness for all those life saving “services” he delivered to the tiger during its deserted life in that wide ocean, with God only witness.
Ungratefulness cannot be attributed to only the bengal tiger, even the last girl I had affair with, proved this point far smartly. However, we can broaden the judgment as – gratefulness, sometimes we fail to acknowledge, sometimes they fail to convey.
And, to conclude the adventure part, I lived the adrenaline hikes, when the water banged Pi’s ship, as the giant whale took a sky dive, fish rained against the raft, and at the end – the big thunder storm!
Mr. Pi overcame all those adversity, and now, he is explaining the experience to a writer who may make this a theme for his writing.
Life, about overcoming the adversity or living the choices, or both?, might be, that, whatever choices we make, hurdles appear and we have to stick with our decision, and, some day we will reach to that mexican sea shore, and those fishermen will take us to the life back, as happened with Pi. And, even if our tiger, who was with us through out, turn its back, then mean nothing more than a sign of mere worldliness!

Plight of Gadkari!

November 6, 2012 § Leave a comment

He is a professional leader, of a national party at national level.
He is a class party worker and law abiding citizen, ready to climb on any tree or jump before any train to mark the purity of this professionalism and innocence! If his driver, cook, gardener, etc are directors of or owns some few companies, industries, is it his problem? After all, he is Nithin Gadkari!
Nation paused when our famous bite-and-run activist turned politician Kejriwalji made that revelation! Mused by the quip and silliness of announcements, BJP leaders laughed at and stood well behind their party leader Gadkariji, saluted his service, sang an anthem of his tales!
Media took the gush of Kejriwalji’s words. Gush turned to breeze. Breeze tuned to wind. And as I write, wind turned to storm! Bigger and mightier than deadly Sandy! The difference here, the eye and victim will be only our innocent Mr. G!
Ramjathmalaniji wrote a letter bearing opinion from Yashwantji, Jaswantji, Shattruji to Lalji; that, the continuation of current party leadership, under such situation is a disaster! Thanks to Julian Assange, the era is of leaks and mega leaks is the fashion, the letter leaked to media in big way!
Weeks back nation saw a confident smiling face asserting his words and deeds, now, the same face bit pale running door to door to ensure a safe pass!
Swamy Vivekananda might or might not have got same IQ as that of a smuggler; but at least never underestimate IQ of mango people! Remember, this is a republic still, though banana kind!

Further Thoughts…(US version)

November 3, 2012 § 1 Comment

Now that rat got killed, what to do with the cat!
Situation similar happened with our friend and US President Obama and cruel epitomized Osama (Bin Laden). Obama dreamed, visioned, preached, planned, tried (repeatedly though), snatched (right under from Pakistani army nose) and then executed (with finest touch) the rogue mullah! The vision never culminated by the mark, it swam further, further to the sea, where the body of this hatred disposed (away from media lenses). Humanity around earth had to satisfy with a image (issued by concerned agencies later) of pale-thrilled faces from Hilary and the highly decorated ranked officers glancing the gruesome scene in front; which roughly represented how you and me will feel, watching the scene.
Climax: as Big Brothers wished, nobody knows, as I write, where Osama Bin Laden’s body reached
Moral of the story: Never to become a terrorist.
What Next?
An election; to determine who will be the next commander in chief for the white starred (on blue back), red striped mansonary states.
Mitt Romney or Barrack Obama?
The old cat or a new Romney?
So many rats are still there, jobless youths, recession devastated economy or twisted global policy; waiting for a right kind of cat…

November 1

Tropical storm Nilam’s gift, few thin clouds dangling in the otherwise blue sky on a post monsoon period; the visual for me from the front yard. Thanks to the state government view to hold the anniversary of the state’s birth as a home-stay day for the employees working in various types and kinds of buildings and banners.
Kerala and Karnataka, two states of taste different, language different, culture different, attitude different, almost anything any matter, they have views that stand poles apart. Belief of being Indian and common DNA pattern might be some of the very few reasons which hold us in a bunch under tri-color bumper flag with proud Ashok Chakra sealed, so are the cases for remaining 26+ states of this banana republic. Added to that, our leaders’ reference to us as mango people, makes us united for some great cause.
What might have made the nation’s in-law for the particular phrase reference?
“A super silent PM (may be a action-believer), mysterious party family rule (Nehru family with Gandhi name), a president who was (is) an active politician not very long ago, parliamentary-legislative “cults” of protracted religious-cast-creed-religious head count, handful corrupt ministers at the wink of greedy bills and mills riches, a land of (for) IPLs, filmfares.”
If not this, which could be a banana republic; if not us, who could be better mango people!
Stomach-full politics for a Thursday morning!
November 1, on-day for the state where I reside, off-day for the state where I work; itself explains the difference!

A New Leader

June 22, 2014 § Leave a comment

To view a “thing”, we can use more than one lens. Accordingly will be the “thing” appearing to the viewer. Nobody will argue on that (may be not).

Marathon election campaigns, sequel election phases, and leaders roaring-contradicting each other – months of April to May were altogether busy in schedule; let that be nationally profiled leader, or the one next door. The nation was in search of a leader, a charismatic one.

May 16 was a D Day for all. D stood for “Decisive” for some, and for the other “Deceived”. Let the most voted candidate win, let the most seated party form the government in the largest democracy. He did, it did, and they did.

This was a quick recap.

Now, 4th week of June, monsoon reached the shores; I had a couple of hair cut styles. A month after the new government formation, people saw some radical “modification” on some of their leaders’ and their words. Onion prices, railway fares, Hindi language themes boiling in that hot summer north Indian platelets, flooding the konkan strip of sub-continent.

Imagine of our former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, breaks his year aged silence and claim on now Prime Minister Narendra Modi for copying his way of embarrassing nation and the nationalists alike; how one from ruling party can rebut that? Even if one managed to do so, on what ground the person can justify his stand?

Please do not blame the worms of criticism and pessimism from a can, that, this writer mixed on your optimism, aspiration and faith on the new charismatic leader.

Writer is aware of PM’s popularity, lakhs of likes on his FB page, and million twitter followers. Rain maker with his words, huge fan base nation-wide, charisma loathing personality; yet stumbled on the way PM disrupted people day-to-day life by rising railway fare and not being able to control rising prices of some the essential commodities for living.

Nation is still in waiting to see that charismatic person to lead its people to balanced growth, development, harmony and peace. They say they found him, they voted for him, they elected him, and now he is ruling them.

The writer cynical still.

A Library

October 8, 2013 § Leave a comment

Ours is a village of not so many knowledge seekers, nor of knowledge sharers. Still we appreciate those with the traits mentioned.
Excuse for not having a “full-time” library/reading room could be attributed to the mentioned traits however.
When I write “full-time” library/reading room, that should give a fair clue on the existence of some set-up of part-time mode.
Yes it did.
A reading room cum library in broad day light, then, as sun left the the skies, the furnitured room turned to a poultry cubicle. And, the risk of having this two in one “set-up” was, the people related to the respective field had to do certain “adjustments” with the shift flip.
It was on good understanding between the promoters of reading culture and chicken-dieters.
Between knowledge and business!
Days passed. Months passed. Years passed.
As owner looked to the bill, it was poultry that made the earning; newspapers and magazines that occupied the quite shelf of library/reading room, added to the expenses.
Math was straight and simple. Encourage the earning, discourage the expenses. Like that, village lost its sole library/reading which it got after decades of struggle and sacrifice. I still see the anger of this lost battle in so many comrades (of all colors – red, green and blue).
It was past.
Now, we have a “full-time” library/reading room. Two senior person of the community felt the need, and worked hard to establish the dream. As with any revolutionary deed, this too faced with too many storms, thunders, lightnings, cross-flows. Sheer determination lead them to group like minded villagers. They spoke on a dark sky night under a LED bulb with leased mikes and furniture. All felt good. Some even saw a bright future for the village after the library/reading room opening.
Enthusiasm died in days. Happiness died in weeks. In months associated members started feeling the pain. Even, one of the most “elevated” person of the library-initiative openly agreed his “change-of-mind”, and requested the founders (remember, the two seniors!) to relieve him from the role.
Weekend money-collection visits to ear-marked houses, weekly letter dispatch to related ministry and panchayath president; made the remaining library/reading room enthusiasts busy throughout.
We have a facebook group, a facebook page, a twitter account, a blogger page for our Library; but not enough financial aid.
When we stressed on the need for the aid, Panchayath President felt the need as a luxury.
Poultry haunts the reading room/library again!
Villagers have to think further, act accordingly!

Happy Teachers’ Day

September 7, 2013 § Leave a comment

A text message, and a vocal wish, that’s all I received for Teachers’ Day as a wish.

I can blame my 160+ students for not wishing me; but, why?

One of my students showed up to my table space (?), asked, “Sir, how you figured out that I am scattered?”.

A silent reply rolled through my mind, “I know, almost all of us are actually scattered, only for you I made it obvious.” A tight lipped smile only I could give instead. And, some tips to get out of the situation.

The situation with the student, and wishless Teachers’ day got any relation?

Yes, I am expecting wish from someone, who are not at all wishful about their life, which makes so much sense and gives huge relief to my inner self on the “wish” matter, let me admit.

As with any generation, this too new to an age, an age they feel full of potential, but they lack the “stamina” to perform through the opportunities.

Same day, I had a lecturing session too. One third of the black board taken by a bumper wish for Teachers’ Day, a red rose glued for extra punch, and a request for free hour. What it tells about our younger generation?

Broad-mindedness for the colorful wish?

Self-centered mindset for occupying one third of the black board?

Cute mentality for the red rose?

Immaturity for the request of a free-hour?

Questions appeared many in my head, few answers too I could relate.

Teachers deserve a “wish” really?

I think, we teachers need to inspire our younger generation to have wish for themselves first, and, later to us or whoever.
